Thanks for your interest in Urban Harvest. It was a good run while it lasted. Unfortunately, we've had to go our separate ways. The time, resources, and people that were needed, just didn't all happen at the same time.
Dawn is teaching yoga at Guilford College and at Free Spirits Yoga, and doing freelance graphic design work.
Justin works full-time as the Garden Manager at the Greensboro Edible Schoolyard which we hope will fill a similar need to what Urban Harvest was providing.

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Approves Land Use
The dream of Urban Harvest founders Dawn and Justin Leonard has always been to create an urban farm in Greensbro. In the summer of 2009 we did an internship at Growing Power. In the summer of 2010 we worked with the city on a vacant plot of land on South Eugene St. and found that it was a brownfield. With patience and perseverance, we made a serendipitous connection with another organization and the community who was looking to build an urban farm in their neighborhood. Prince of Peace Lutheran Church has approved the use of their land (about 3 acres) for the community and community organizations, to build an urban farm. We are in the early planning phase, including environmental assessments, developing the business structure, applying for grants, and visioning the lay of the land. When it comes time to put shovels to the ground, we will have a strong call to all of you who are interested in volunteering. Until then, we hope you will keep up your own good work with sustainable food systems. For more information and to be involved with this project, email Marianne Legreco.
